They were led to a small body of fresh water in a quiet part of town. The moon was right, the water was as smooth as glass, the bait was good and it was the best time of day. Surely they would catch a fish.
As they waited for the “catch of the day” they spoke of God's goodness. They spoke of Jesus telling His disciples to cast their nets on the right side of the ship, Jonah and the great fish, the silver in the fish's mouth and so on.
The more they glorified God the bigger the nibbles they got... but still no catch.
They continued to ponder on Jesus and Biblical things yet still wondering why they hadn't caught any fish (like another successful afternoon).
By now the sun was setting and they decided to call it a day. But suddenly... through the peaceful quiet... they heard something...
The hum of a small boat idling toward land. Inside were three thickly bearded, rifle toting hunters that were dressed in camouflage from head to toe. A young boy was also in the mix. We watched as they pulled up to a little dock a few yards away, loading the boat onto a trailer and pulling toward their truck.
One of the Hunters while walking yelled to us “Hey! Ya'll want some fish?” In a frozen moment of time and mouths agape we looked at each other in absolute amazement. And then... received.

Not what we anticipated and surely not how we expected.
Our message was this... don't put God in a box.
Expect the UN-EXPECTED!
We were fully prepared to fish in the natural but God supplied in the SUPER-natural! Just because we had the poles, the bait and the conditions were right does not mean that's how He will deliver.
The Word of God says...
